Divisions

***Please note that all divisions with less than 5 competitors may be combined with the division above or below at the discretion of the Kengo CMA***

Grand Champion Black Belt Division: There will be an overall Grand Champion Award to the Adult (over 18, Male or Female) Black Belt competitor who gains the most points over the course of the event.

How It Works:

For each of the named categories (Creative Wood, Power Concrete Elbow, Power Concrete Foot, Power Wood Hand, Power Wood Elbow, and Non-Spaced Power Wood Foot) competitors will be awarded points that will determine the Grand Champion.

Competitors must enter at least 3 categories to qualify.

Points will be awarded as follows:

16 points for 1st,

11 points for 2nd,

7 points for 3rd

In the event of a tie, tied competitors will have a 3 station creative break-off.

Again the Grand Champion Trophy is available to adult Black Belt competitors.

There is a $10 fee to be included in the Grand Champion run and is payable at the event. We will need at least 3 competitors to enter for it to run.

Divisions:

FIRST TIME BREAKERS DIVISION

You may not enter any other divisions if entering First Time Breaker.

All techniques allowed

Multiple stations (3 station max.)

3-minute max. (set-up/break/clean-up)

Competitor provides own holders and stands (standard 8X8X16” stands provided)

Competitors will be paired up

CREATIVE MULTI-DIRECTION WOOD BREAKING

Brief overview of rules:

Wood boards only

All techniques allowed

Stations: Beginner/Intermediate Competitors- 4 Stations Max., Advanced/Black Belt

Competitors- 8 Station Max.

3-minute max. (set-up/break/clean-up)

Competitor provides own holders and stands (standard 8X8X16” stands provided)

CREATIVE OPEN BREAKING

Brief overview of rules:

Any materials. No fire, no glass.

All techniques allowed

Multiple stations, 10 station max.

6-minute max. (set-up/break/clean-up)

Competitor provides own holders and stands (standard 8X8X16” stands provided)

POWER CONCRETE BREAKING

Brief overview of rules:

Carpenter Pencil Spacers provided

Downward strike/one strike only

Set on floor with block base

6-minute max. (set-up)

Patio blocks must be purchased from supply committee

Hand- Allowed strikes: Palm, hammer fist, chop, etc.

Elbow- Allowed strikes: Drop elbow, overhand elbow, etc.

Foot- Allowed strikes: Stomp, Axe kick, etc.

POWER BOARD BREAKING

Board size: 7 yrs. and under- 1/2x6x12″, 8-12- 1/2X10X12”, 13 and over- 1X10X12

Brief overview of rules:

Carpenter Pencil Spacers provided

Downward strike/one strike only

Set on floor with block base

5-minute max. (set-up)

Boards must be purchased from supply committee

Hand- Spacers used, Allowed strikes: Palm, Knife-hand, Chop, Hammer fist, Punch

Elbow- Spacers used, allowed strikes: Drop elbow, overhand elbow, etc.

Foot- Downward strike, spacers used, Allowed strikes: stomp, axe kick, etc.

SPEED BOARD BREAKING

Board size: 7 yrs. and under- 1/2″x6x12″, 8-12- 1/2X10X12”, 13 and over- 1X10X12

Brief overview of rules:

No Spacers Allowed

Any technique allowed 5 Station maximum, stations may be replenished; stations are concrete stands.

Stations are made up of standard 8”X8”X16” or 2”x8”x16” block provided

Competitor and 2 assistant’s maximum

10 seconds to break, 3-minute max. (set-up/break/clean-up)

Boards must be purchased from supply committee
